Are sight tests free?

If you are in one of the following categories and are housebound then
your sight test is paid for by the National Health.


Each one of our Opticians will come to your home or work. We carry the lastest equipment and spectacle frames.
Each sight test includes glaucoma check ups and a full report is given so you and your family or partners will be able to see what the results are of the sight exam.
All of our spectacles are professionally fitted to your satisfaction but fully trained members of staff at your convenience.

If you are in one of the following categories and are housebound then your sight test is paid for by the National Health.

Income Support
Jobseekers Allowance
Pension Credit Guarentee Credit
Working Families Tax Credit
NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate
HC2 Certificate
HC3 Certificate

If you are over 60 years of age then you are entitled to a NHS test which is Free of charge, A charge is made for the visit to you home of £30 - this covers also the delivery of any spectacles from the eye test.


If you do not belong to the above categories and you are not over 60 years of age there is a charge for your sight test We charge £15 for the sight test and £30 for the visit. If you wish to combine this with someone else at the same address then there would only be one charge for the visit.
